Think Research have been specialising in ATM Concept Validation since 2004. In that time validation expertise has been provided to several European service providers, and international agencies such as EUROCONTROL and the FAA. Think Research believe that as a concept matures from initial idea, through development, deployment and decommissioning, the scope and objective of the validation process changes. This approach is echoed in the European Operational Concept Validation Methodology (E-OCVM) which Think Research co-authored.

The E-OCVM was launched in response to the demand for a coordinated approach to research and development across industry, R&D organisations, Air Navigation Service Providers and the EUROCONTROL Agency. The European Commission endorsed the E-OCVM and made its use mandatory for all projects in ATM R&D collaboration. The E-OCVM now forms the backbone of the validation process used in SESAR.

Our involvement in the development of the E-OCVM has ensured an extensive, detailed understanding of the subject not found elsewhere. We have been involved in projects at every stage of the validation process, working on current operational systems, right up to systems and concepts that are expected for deployment in 2020 and beyond.
