Think and EUROCONTROL MUAC Announce RECALL Agreement
Think Research and EUROCONTROL Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre announced, at ATC Global 2011, and agreement which sees MUAC take our RECALL Analysis Software on trial with a view to purchasing a number of licenses. Press Release
SESAR Awards
The awards for Remote and Virtual Tower just keep on coming! At the inaugural SESAR Awards held the night before ATC Global we won the award for "Most Advanced for Deployment". This is one of only three awards given and reflects how far we have come in this project with our concept development. Here we are with the team in Malmo enjoying the fine champagne given along with the trophy.

Think Research exhibited at the annual ATC Global Exhibition. Our stand, designed by Bond and Coyne, showcased our products and services and the show was a great success. We'll be back next year, Stand D130a.
SESAR P12.04.01
We are pleased to announce that we will be working on our next SESASR project - P12.04.01, otherwise known as "Baseline for Airport Controller Tools". On behalf of NATS UK we will conduct the live trial at Southampton airport. This is the first validation exercise in the entire SESAR programme, and we are honoured to once again be asked to be a SESAR "pioneer".
New staff!
Like busses, you wait ages for one Sarah, then two come along at once. Welcome to Sarah Broom and Sarah Dain. Sarah B joins us as a recent ATCO trainee from NATS, having completed 3 years training and over 400 hundred hours of live control in the Daventry and Lakes sectors. Sarah D has a 1st class Honours Degree in Aerospace Engineering and holds an Airline Transport Pilots' Licence (CPL with MECR/IR).
Working together with SELEX
Think Research have work with SELEX UK to develop operationally focused Use Cases for requirements capture. We will begin by focusing on the use of Electronic Flight Data (EFD) in Terminal Control.

The work led by Think Research on behalf of LFV/NORACON on the Remote Tower Concept has been awarded a NORACON Gold Star Award. This is the 2nd award Think Research has won for our SESAR work and marks a successful end to 2010.

Think Research have been awarded another contract to support SESAR. This time it's to support NATS with an En-Route Multi Sector Planner simulation.
NATS iFACTS
We are once again working on iFACTS as the programme prepares for implementation. This is our third engagement with the programme. Back in 1999 when it was still in it's very early R&D phase (as FACTS) it was the first project Directors Rob Waggitt and Conor Mullan worked on when they joined NATS. Think Research became formally involved again in 2004 as leaders for the Core Engine and System Validation. This time around it is to assess the impact of MET data on the trajectory predictions.

Many thanks to all those who applied. We had applications from all over the world and the position has now been filled. A warm welcome to Wayne Young who joins us having completed a M.Sc. Computing, a B.Sc. in Computer Animation and Foundation Art at Bournemouth and Swansea Universities.

Think Research have been awarded the inaugural NORACON Gold Star award for their work earlier this year on the SESAR Remote Tower (06.09.03) Project Initiation Report. The PIR was passed 'Green' at the very first attempt!

SATS NTC
Think Research were today elected onto the Sustainable Air Transport Services National Technical Committee. The SATS NTC connects government bodies and sources of funding to UK members whose ideas can make a significant positive contribution to the UK environment and economy.
SESAR P06.09.03 (Remote Tower)
Think Research have been selected as the Working Area leader for the SESAR Remote Tower Project (P06.09.03) concept development and validation. We will assist NORACON in writing the OSED for Single, Multiple and Contingency Remote Tower as well as with the live trials in 2011 and 2012.
